High-end tuner Brabus has always impressed the automotive world with its high-performance, luxurious creations that usually involve tuned Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Acknowledging high-end motorcycling as a plausible business, Brabus entered into a partnership with motorcycle maker KTM. The first fruit of this collaboration comes in the form of the limited-edition Brabus 1300 R.
From KTM 1290 Super Duke R Evo To Brabus 1300 R
The Brabus 1300 R is essentially a KTM 1290 Super Duke R Evo naked bike that Brabus has transformed to represent the best of both brands, becoming the ultimate combination of luxury, power and tenacity. As the 1300 R, the naked bike now features a number of parts and components from the well-known German tuner. Featuring heated grips and lightweight Li-Ion battery, the 1300 R comes loaded with carbon fiber parts.
Serving as the core of the Brabus 1300 R is a LC8 V-twin engine that can deliver 180 hp of max output at 9,500 rpm and 103 lb-ft of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. Complementing this motor is the latest WP APEX semi-active suspension technology, which comes with six dedicated damping modes. The rider can select any of the five damping modes as needed — Comfort, Street, Sport, Track, Advanced — while the sixth mode (Auto) automatically adapts the 1300 R to road and riding conditions.
Five riding modes are also selectable: Street, Sport, Rain, Performance, and Track.
From KTM Orange To Brabus Black And Bold
As part of the transformation from a KTM to a Brabus, the 1300 R now dons the brand’s so-called ‘Black and Bold’ design identity. The Brabus 1300 R has several exclusive elements, featuring unmistakable styling cues from Brabus’ supercar creations. These include the lightweight Monoblock Z 9-spoke forged wheels, bespoke carbon-fiber air intakes, a distinctive headlight as well as a custom-made heated seat – all from Brabus.
Other features of the Brabus 1300 R include a unique black frame, Brabus slip-on double-pipe exhaust, Brabus start-up animation, Brabus color scheme for the dashboard, Brabus carbon belly pan, Brabus pillion seat cover, Brabus handlebar end mirrors, carbon fiber undertray (with short license plate holder) and LED turn indicators with integrated brake lights.
Brabus To Build 77 Examples For Each Color Scheme
Brabus is offering the new 1300 R in just two signature color schemes: Magma Red and Signature Black. The company will produce 77 examples of each variant (77 signifies the year of Brabus’ foundation). Marking each naked bike is a sign of excellence with a limited-edition number. Brabus will start accepting pre-orders for the 1300 R on February 14, 2022.
The heart of the Brabus 900 Rocket Edition is a twin-turbo V8 that helps it sprint from 0-60 mph in just 3.2 seconds.
