Lancashire Constabulary – Detectives thank the public and re-appeal for witnesses after man is robbed of e-bike in Accrington

Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed of his e-bike in Accrington.

It comes as officers thanked the public for their support after the bike was recovered and has now been returned to the victim.

We were called to the Eastgate area of the town just before 5am yesterday (January 30) to reports of a robbery.

The victim – a man in his 20s – was riding his Hai bike S Duro Hardseven 5.0 when he was approached by two men on an Enduro-style motorbike.

The victim was then punched to the face, before one of the suspects stole his bike.

No arrests have been made at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing.

DC Josh Boswell, of East CID, said: “This was a nasty attack which left the victim very shaken. The public response to our appeal has been overwhelmingly positive and we have since managed to return the bike to the victim. Our investigation is still very much ongoing and I would ask anybody who has information on the identity of the offenders to make contact with the police.”

Anyone with information is asked to email [email protected] or call 101, quoting log 0351 of January 30, 2022.
