Police Blotter: Oak Park resident robbed at gunpoint

An Oak Park resident was held at gunpoint during an armed robbery that lasted about 20 minutes in the 300 block of South Elmwood Avenue on Dec. 23. The victim was walking northbound on Elmwood Avenue at 9:45 p.m., Dec. 23, when he was approached from behind by two male offenders. The first offender pulled out a handgun and demanded all of the victim’s property, while the second offender reached inside the victim’s pockets and took his keys, a black cell phone and a black leather wallet.

The two offenders forced the victim to walk to an unknown location and then took turns using the victim’s Chase debit card to withdraw money, while the other watched the victim. The victim was allowed to leave at 10:05 p.m. The total estimated loss is $3,500.

The two offenders are described as Black male teens, both between 5 feet 10 and 6 feet tall. The first was last seen wearing a black hat, black face mask, orange and purple New Balance tennis shoes with black pants and a red hoody with black stripes on the sleeves. The second offender was last seen wearing a black face mask, black hat and black coat with a white tag on the zipper.
