In addition, European bike sales are expected to reach 30 mio per annum by 2030[i], coupled by e-bikes leading that pack with a 23% sales increase between 2019 and 2020. It’s becoming obvious that the future for e-bikers is looking bright.  Another trend we observed is an increasing number of customers demanding better protection – especially when it comes to theft. As e-bikes, due to being high-value items, are a major target for thieves, this makes the majority of buyers nervous about purchasing one.

According to an AfterLock survey¹, 80% of respondents across the UK, Germany and the Netherlands reported being anxious about bike theft – with over half having experienced it in their lifetime. For many people who rely on their bike as a primary mode of transportation, their worst nightmare was having it stolen – until now.Even though Greyp bikes come with hi-tech safety features, sometimes it is better to have additional peace of mind knowing you did everything you could to keep your e-bike safe and in one piece. The Qover Bike insurance in partnership with Greyp offers two levels of insurance: theft (“PLUS”) and theft and damage (“PRO”). 

Currently the Qover Bike Insurance in partnership with Greyp is available in Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain and Great Britain, depending on the countries specific Insurance regulations and bike availability, but as our partners over at Qover expand their network, so will Greyp Bikes.
